Xen-Do Martial Arts is London's premier provider of lessons and classes for all different levels and expertise in Kickboxing and Martial Arts in London. Xen-Do kids have real fun while developing a 'Fit For Life' attitude towards everything they do. Starting with Xen-Do Little Champs from four years of age, our Kids Kickboxing and Martial Arts programmes encourage fast progression in a positive and safe environment. Our Junior Champs and Teens Classes introduce a more technical curriculum to ensure both interest and whole life fitness is continuously stimulated and improved.
Dai Master Raf has been involved in Martial Arts since 1972 and during that time he has proved the fighting system by winning national and international titles. He won the British WAKO Title on four occasions and also the World and European WAKO Championships. He also served 15 years as a London fireman. He became Technical Director of the National College of Karate in 1988 and British Team Coach in 1992. By 1994 he represented Britain at the World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO) and founded and developed the Spanish WAKO Organisation.
Having started training at the age of 5 with his father, the founder of Xen-Do, Dai Master Rafael Nieto, Sensei Anthony took his black belt first Dan in 2007 rising to his fifth Dan in 2018. Since then Sensei Anthony has competed in and won 13 National and International Championships as well as retaining his Spanish National Champion title in Bilbao, in 2012, in 2013, again in 2015. Sensei Anthony most recently competed in the Spanish Open Tournament, June 2018, taking home Gold. Sensei Anthony is the acting Director for Xen-Do International.
Sensei Joe has been working on his martial arts career for over 13 years, reaching the level of 2nd Dan in Shotokan Karate. In addition to Xen-Do and Shotokan Karate, Joseph has also trained in Kung Fu. His passion for martial arts takes up most of his time, however, when he is not in the dojo, Joseph can be found swimming, playing basketball or continually expanding his knowledge and love for computers. Joseph recently spent 10 months volunteering as an Outdoor Activities Instructor at an adventure camp in Melbourne, Australia.
Sensei Karla moved to London from the Philippines 11 years ago. She has been an avid martial arts enthusiast for most of her life but never had the chance to participate herself. Two years ago, she decided to throw caution to the wind and try her hand at Muay Thai and kickboxing and it was from here that her passion for the sport really came to life. It was obvious she was a natural from her first class at Xen-Do and she has never looked back. Even after the shortest interaction with her, it is easy to see that she eats, sleeps and breathes martial arts.
Sensei Kasheme's determination and perseverance has enabled him to obtain his Black Belt through the Xen-Do’s hybrid curriculum in just 7 months. After many months of constant training under Master Rafael Nieto, Sensei Kasheme’s fitness and technique won him the Spanish Open in 2017 and 2018! As a youngster, Sensei Kasheme had a natural ability when it came to football, Having been born and raised in Nottingham, his dreams materialised when he was scouted by Nottingham Forest. He spent 2 years playing as an apprentice and signed a professional contract after that.
Sensei Lauren was born and raised in London and has trained at Xen-Do from a very young age. Both of her parents trained at Xen-Do, igniting her love for the sport and the community within the dojos. Her passion for Martial Arts shines through in everything that she does. Whether she is teaching a class or participating in a training session, Lauren never seems to run out of energy or spinning kicks. She received her Black Belt in 2014 at the age of fourteen and continued through the intense curriculum to receive her 1st Dan in 2016, 2nd Dan in 2018.
Sensei Lewes was in limbo waiting for a football injury to heal when he made a decision that would change his life forever, when he came to Xen-Do to train and rehabilitate. He loved it so much Sensei Lewes decided to make a career change. Sensei Lewes has now been here for 5 years and has competed in his first tournament at the Spanish Open, grabbing silver. He is a 1st dan black belt and working towards his 2nd dan by the end of this year.
Sensei Nicolas grew up in the Nimes, a Roman city in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. He then moved to London at 22 years of age. Sensei Nicolas is a longstanding member of the Xen-Do team having been with us since 2007. He began his Martial Arts journey with Shotokan Karate at the age of 9 and practiced obsessively for 3 years. The sport improved his self-discipline and it is this that kept him so passionate about Martial Arts.. He worked his way quickly though the grading system achieving his 1st Dan in 2009. Sensei Nicolas gained his 5th Dan in 2018.
Paul has always had an underlying passion for extreme sports and learning a Martial Art was to be another string to Paul’s bow as he pursued the next challenge in his life. Paul previously spent nine years working as a chef, including five years as a head chef. His knowledge of food is second to none so, if you have any dietary advice about healthy recipes or better ways to stay in shape please ask. After a couple of years training as a student, he became a Sensei and hasn't looked back. He competed at the Spanish Open in 2018 and Won Gold in the under 75kg weight category.
Sensei Walter grew up in Perugia, Italy and moved to London to explore pastures new. He is a proud husband and father and loves spending time with his wife and his 4 year old son/kickboxing prodigy. As with many of our Sensei's, Walter has been involved in some form of Martial Art from an early age. He has trained in Capoeira and Systema for over 20 years and competed all around Italy. His dojo in Italy was the first association to recognise Capoeira as a holistic activity.
