In 9 years has qualified to 2nd Dan. At the age of 52, Tom should be an inspiration to all older persons who may be interested. This level of qualification is achievable at any age. Tom is interested in encouraging any new students in any age group to come along and take an interest in the art of Karate. Its rewards in fitness and knowledge are inexhaustive. He is able to convey his experiences and knowledge to all students.
I started training back in the early 1960's when I was in my early twenties. The Martial Arts of any kind were much of a mystery. There were some Judo Clubs and a few Karate Clubs, mainly studying the systems of Shoto-Kan and Shoto-Ryu. The different systems we have today were mostly non existent. At the age of 28, I Joined the Wado-Ryu system, and I haven't looked back. I am now 69 years old and still going strong! I have gained much experience from Top Instructors, all, with something different to offer.
