Volk's Electric Railway is the oldest electric railway in the world. Situated in the seaside town of Brighton, the Railway was constructed by Magnus Volk and first opened to the public in 1883. The route runs for one mile along Brighton seafront, with three stations where passengers can alight. Trains run frequently from March to September and for special events throughout the rest of the year.
