At Trident TKD we put the needs of our students first, always trying to improve and innovate in the way we instruct. As a result of our commitment to our students, a high proportion of our business comes from referrals. Trident TKD is part of T-UK (Taekwon-Do UK), which has around 2,000 members with strongholds in Scotland, the North-West, the Central region and Cambridge. The main aim of T-UK is to provide the highest quality standards of TKD in the UK at an affordable price. T-UK is a member of ITF (International TKD Federation) with T-UK on the ITF-England Board of directors.
Mr Dodoo started his Taekwon-Do jouney in 2011 under the instruction of Mr Warmingham at his Sale Club, but eventually started to train under the instruction of Mr Miley. Mr Dodoo had previously trained in Karate but did not find the instructors as friendly and as encouraging as the instructors here at Trident. 1st Aid Qualified Squad Coach Starting TKD in 2001 Mr Kivell gaining 1st Dan in 2003, progressing to 2nd Dan in 2005, 3rd Dan in 2008 and 4th Dan in 2012. Mr Kivell is an experienced instructor having ran Bolton TKD for 7yrs. He is currently assistant instructor at a local high school club and also assists in classes at the Academy Mr Kivell has attended 2 International Instructor Courses, competed & umpired at national & regional events as well as seminars by G.Master CK Choi and G.Master Choi Jung Hwa. 1st Aid Qualified Mr McCallum teaches the Taekwondo-Do Kubz syllabus for 3 to 6 year olds and also teaches the ‘peewees’ 6 to 12 year olds.
1st Aid Qualified Mr Miley started training in 1985 in Elgin, Scotland whilst serving in the RAF. Mr Miley attained black belt in 1995 after travelling around the world with the RAF. In 1996 He was part of the European Power Breaking Team (Glenrothes, Scotland) In 1997 he was a World Patterns Bronze Medallist (St Louis USA) In 1998 Mr Miley moved to Manchester and opened his first club at David Lloyd, Trafford in the same year. Mr Miley now has over 300 students training under him and has produced over 1000 black belts, and coached Reginal, National and World Champions.

1st Aid Qualified Mr Teague started Taekwon-Do in 2008 and attained his 1st Degree in 2011. 2nd Degree in 2014 and 3rd Degree in 2017. Mr Teague assists the Junior classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. As well as Taekwon-Do Mr Teague also has a passion for sailing and can be found on Abersoch beach in the summer months. 1st Aid Qualified Mrs Dervish started Taekwon-Do in 2014 under the instruction of Mr Miley and achieved her black belt in 2017 Mrs Dervish has 3 children, 2 sons, who are also black belts and her daughter who will test next for black belt at her next grading. Mrs Dervish has taken part in Regional and National Championships and took part in the World cup in Budapest in 2016 and was a bronze medalist in Patterns Mrs Dervish teaches the Kubz and Childrens classes on a Wednesday and also assists Mr Miley in his classes.
1st Aid Qualified Mrs Jones started Taekwon-Do in 2014, inspired by her daughter and later joined by her son. Initially intimidated by sparring and the thought of competing, Mrs Jones has gone on to thoroughly enjoy both, building her skills and confidence through our monthly Squad, weekly ‘Fight Club’ and other training sessions. Mrs Jones has won 15 Gold medals for Sparring and Patterns at regional and national competitions, scooping double Gold at six events. Mrs Jones assists Mr Mottershead on Friday evenings
