Choir for children age nine to eighteen. We meet once a week during tem term and perform regularly at concerts and charity events. Our varied repertoire ranges from current pop to musical theatre as well as classics and gospel
Music, Dance & Drama
Theatretrain has not run any activities for over two months. We’re trying to get an up-to-date schedule.
Claire has danced since the age of three, beginning her training with the Clifton School of Dance. She achieved her degree (BA Hons) in Performing Arts from Sunderland University. This was followed by a First Class Honours Masters Degree in Television and Film Production Claire has also worked as a backstage technician on major UK tours such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Legally Blonde and Joseph and the Amaxing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Dan studied drama at Liverpool John Moores University, graduating in 2011, and has continued to act locally since. He has had roles in shows such as Equus, When We Are Married, Oliver! Anything Goes, and has been playing the comedy characters of pantomime annually for 10 years now, most recently Aladdin! He has just finished directing The Weekend for Tip Top Productions in Chester, and in his spare time, enjoys working as a television extra, performing stand up comedy, and writing as a theatre critic for an online magazine..
Katie has been involved in the performing arts since the age of nine. She was a pupil at Theatretrain for seven years, performing at The Royal Albert Hall three times before leaving to study Psychology at University
Leslie graduated with an honours degree in Acting from the Ohio University School of Theatre and worked as an award-winning actor in the States. Now living in the UK, she continues to share her love of the performing arts as a theatre arts teacher, musical director, and as Artistic Coordinator for the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. She loves working with children and strongly believes in the ethos of Theatretrain. Leslie has taught at the Mold school since it opened. She has also prepared Theatretrain's first ever 'Joseph Choirs' for the touring Kenwright production of Joseph.
Rob trained in Theatre and Dance at Salford University and after graduating he went onto work touring the country in pantomimes and working two summer seasons in Disneyland Paris dancing and performing in their daily shows and parades. Locally Rob is involved with many groups across the North West which involves him directing, choreographing and teaching. Last year he directed and choreographed productions of Guys and Dolls in Runcorn, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at Theatr Clwyd and Oliver! in Rhyl. He has also performed in various shows and pantomimes.
Steve opened Mold Theatretrain in January 2009 having managed the Chester school since April 2005. He also manages the schools in Wrexham as well as the Friday Evening School in Chester. Steve's role is to oversee the artistic and teaching standards within the schools. He also regularly leads classes if teachers are off for any reason and also creates all of our productions by bringing together the various aspects of the show at the final stages of rehearsal. As well as leading workshops in primary schools in the area Steve also regularly acts and directs.
