We offer lessons and classes in music, dance and drama for children living in Leicester & Leicestershire. The Arella School is now in it’s fourth year of bringing the joy of the Performing Arts into children’s lives. Our teachers are committed to ensuring every child feels welcome and included, regardless of age or ability. Our passionate teachers strive to inspire our students every week and allow them the time and space to get creative and learn new skills, and develop existing ones. Our students self-confidence and self-belief grows each week as they settle in to our friendly community.
Music, Dance & Drama
The Arella School of Performing Arts has not run any activities for over two months. We’re trying to get an up-to-date schedule.
Becca teaches music and drama at Arella, and is the owner of the school. She has been playing the Piano for over 20 years, and studied Music at the University of Liverpool. Becca is also a huge fan of Theatre, particularly musicals (Chicago and Kiss Me Kate are her favourites), and studied Musical Theatre at Goldsmiths, University of London. As part of her time at Goldsmiths she studied Disability Theatre as well as writing for Musical Theatre. In 2018, she completed a qualification in Understanding Autism.
Carmel is a Qualified Teacher, and has run her own pre-school in Leicester since 2004. She has a lot of experience in working with children with Autism, and is class assistant in our Phoenix class – our specialist class for children with Autism. When she was younger she had some guitar lessons, and looks forward to one day having piano lessons from Becca. Although she hasn’t studied singing or dancing formally, Carmel can often be seen singing and dancing around at home!
Kelly teaches dance at Arella, and has been teaching with us since 2016. She has been dancing for over 20 years, and studied for 15 years at dRUMMONdANCE school, where she studied: contemporary dance, tap, ballet, street jazz, acro and singing. Kelly also studied Dance at the University of Lincoln, and recently completed her PGCE in Primary Teaching. When she’s not busy teaching, Kelly can regularly be seen dancing, acting and singing on stage in The Fleckney Duckpond Player’s shows and pantomimes.
