A relaxed, multi-generational session where participants create individual pieces using simple origami, collage and card-making within a shared theme. These family sessions work particularly well as a collaborative experience between adults and children. 

Please note that each adult and each child needs their own ticket. One adult can accompany two under 10s (and more children if they are over 10).

Origami - Family Class (5+)

Discover the fascinating rural tradition of Well Dressing in this creative children’s workshop inspired by the ancient custom of decorating wells and water sources with beautiful natural artworks. Young participants will explore the history and symbolism behind this unique ritual before designing and creating their own nature-inspired mosaic using petals, leaves, seeds, flowers, and other natural materials.We will also create a portrait of the ‘Green Man’ one of Englands most ancient and enduring figures. Often depicted as a human face woven from lush, green foliage, we will be painting ours onto canvas. Through hands-on making, children will experiment with pattern, colour, texture, and composition while learning about seasonal celebrations, community traditions, and the importance of water in our lives. This calming and imaginative workshop encourages creativity, observation, and a deeper connection with the natural world.

Well Dressing and the Green Man (5-11 yrs)

Ukulele is a fantastic first instrument and a wonderful stepping stone to other string instruments. Our friendly tutors will help you play your first song, have fun making music with others and learn skills in rhythm, pitch and notation as part of fun musical games! All levels are welcome. Bring your own instrument or borrow ours!

Uke & You (3-5 yrs)

The Grimms' Fairy Tales gathers timeless folk stories - from daring quests and enchanted animals to cursed royals and clever peasants - all collected by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, with pictures by some of the most famous illustrators such as Rackham and Crane. In these brisk, vivid tales, the everyday collides with the magical, and wit or courage often decides a character’s fate.

We will use printmaking to illustrate and then bind a book of our own version of the stories and print one of our designs onto a T-shirt - will you be a witch, a beast or a princess?

Grimms' Fairy Tales (5-11 yrs)

Do you want to be a mermaid or merman and live under the sea? Inspired by the Disney classic, calypso and classic sea shanties, we will make music, puppets and beautiful art creating the moving effects of water. This class blends together art and music in a uniquely Conservatoire way, taught by specialists in both practices.
