The Churches Conservation Trust

The Churches Conservation Trust is the national charity protecting churches at risk. We care for the churches vested in us by the Church Commissioners of the Church of England, repairing the damage from sometimes years of neglect, and work with local communities to bring them alive again.

Meet the Team

Lorna Hooper
Heritage Learning Officer, West

Lorna has worked with children, young people and families for over 15 years, with Mencap, in schools and for learning in museums, galleries and churches. Lorna began as a portrait artist and has since completed an MA in Heritage Management. She enjoys combining the two with hands-on and creative approaches to learning about heritage. A big ‘church geek’ Lorna can often be found exploring new churches and other medieval places in her free time.

Marie Sellars
Heritage Learning Officer, West

Marie has worked for over ten years in learning at various museums, art galleries and centres. Marie trained as a secondary teacher, but originally started her professional career as a sculptor and is passionate about getting all ages to love heritage in all its guises. When not exploring ‘brown signs’ (in particular churches) and she can be found making things at the bottom of her garden. Marie and Lorna cover Bristol and the counties of Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Somerset, Wiltshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
