The Bright Emporium is a space like no other. Our walls are adorned with books, so you’d be forgiven for thinking we are a library — although there is definitely nothing quiet about us! We are a space for creatives, the dreamers and the fun seekers. For children who want to try new things and meet new friends — to those who want a place to be themselves. We are a destination for the next generation of creators, not users; the pioneers of tomorrow. There is a workshop for everyone ranging from 1-6 years old. We are a place of discovery and exploration, so be a Bright Spark and join us.

It was more of a craft session than messy play; and for my 19 month-old (when the class is supposed to be for 1-3 year old kids) it was definitely too advanced. And a bit boring, to be very honest...
I think this would be fun for older children (my 2.5 year old and the other babies who attended lost interest quickly). It is a sweet class of painting, sticking, colouring and a story to finish but unfortunately more of a craft class than messy play as I had expected from the title.
The venue is lovely but it’s not baby friendly: stairs without gate, no changing table quite small space for toddlers to move around. The venue is not the only issue: the actual activity is not suitable for 1/2 years old. The teacher did not engage with them.m, it’s not messy play but it’s a colouring class where most toddlers won’t be able to focus on the tasks as they are too young. There was a story that again did not engage small babies that kept moving and becoming restless. The only girl enjoying the activity was a girl that must have been 3/4 YO. The actual class lasted 10 minutes less than expected. If I could ask for a refund I would. Not recommended.

I went to the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School in Paris, where I studied everything from Shakespeare and Greek tragedy to walking around the room like a tortoise. The school focuses on movement techniques such as mime, mask work and clowning to give students the tools to create new work for the theatre. As well as being an actor, writer and director, I have lots of experience working with children, leading workshops in drama and other activities, running summer camps and teaching.
I am a writer and self taught illustrator. Also a mum to two boys and part-time teacher. Teaching allowed me to travel the world, now it's time to follow a new dream. Whether it's working with children or engaging them with my books and art, I want to spark joy, creativity and laughter.
