Activities for Parents
SpoonFed Talks has not run any activities for over two months. We’re trying to get an up-to-date schedule.
I liked the idea but it was basically a story of one woman describing in details how she managed to get away from 9-5 job. Bearing in mind that we paid £12 for it, I would expect to receive general knowledge on what to look out for when coming back to work, how to prepare your child for it, how to deal with guilt, how to get the most from working from home arrangements, but NOT to listen how a woman I never heard of managed to get a freelancing career and write a book. I’m sorry, but this was not what was advertised and I am disappointed with the talk.
This needs to be led by a HR professional who actually deals with applications from cv with maternity cover on them etc One mums experience does not translate to the need and thoughts of others. So while nice to share not useful or inspiring.
If you're a new mum in the area, I highly recommend- we always focus on what our babies need so it was nice to take some time for something for me as a mum! Hope SpoonFed runs more events like the one I went to!
