We provide pre-school literacy classes for children aged 1 to 4. Classes focus on learning phonics sounds and beginning to blend and segment them. Activities also focus on developing fine and gross motor skills. All classes are high-energy, with plenty of singing and dancing to help the children learn and have fun at the same time.

Jo is fun and engaging and the class is fast moving and so keeps the little ones' attention well. The content is great for those needing a little extra help and follows very similar methods to those used at school.
This is a super class at preparing children for sounds and in turn for reading and writing. Our son, who has just turned 3, absolutely adores this class and I’m grateful for the fact that this will put him in great stead for when he starts school. We have an older son and I wish this class had been around when he was younger as I honestly believe the style of learning through play is way more beneficial to children of this age and I can really see how through all of the fun activities our youngest is picking up letters and sounds with relative ease. I can’t recommend it enough.
Really great and fun educational classes. Learning the basics of phonics is so important for the early stages of school and learning to read and write! The kids also love Robot Reg!
Jo graduated in 2009 from the University of Warwick, with a Masters degree in English Literature. Following this, she gained teaching experience as both a private English tutor for ages 5-18, and a primary education session leader at the Historic Dockyard Chatham. She then qualified as a secondary level English teacher, and has spent six years teaching in Kent secondary schools. She has two children, a daughter and a son, and is very passionate about the importance of early literacy skills for children. Jo is very excited to be launching Sounds Right Phonics classes in Kent in April.
