Satori Martial Arts run classes in applied Shotokan Karate. Karate is a weaponless means of defence developed from Chinese kung fu. It is primarily a striking art using punching, kicking, knee and elbow strikes. Open-handed techniques, grappling, locks, restraints, throws, and vital point strikes are also taught. Satori Martial Arts work on realistic applications in a modern day context. The core of their training is for self defence, focusing more on practical combat methods than on perfecting forms and katas. Training is available for children from age 5.
