Richard Weekes Chess Academy runs several chess clubs to teach children and young people how to play and to promote the game as both an educational aid and a socially inclusive activity. It uses chess in a way that improves the intellectual development of children to change their attitudes to thinking and learning. These skills should develop the necessary soft skills they need to help them get along better with their peers and enhance their concentration, problem solving and analytical skills as well. Children as young as six years old can attend.
