The North London Conservatoire is now registering children from 6 months - 5 years to join our age-specific Kindergarten music classes. Classes run for between 30-45 minutes throughout the day Monday - Thursday and on Saturdays.

While our classes are not yet available to book via Hoop, children must be registered via the Colourstrings office before attending a class.

The price listed is the fee for the whole term, however fees are charged pro-rata for children who join during the course of the term.

Our classes run in: Muswell Hill (N10); Highgate (N6); Bounds Green / Bowes Park (N11); Islington (N1) and Hendon (NW4). Our after-school Kindergarten classes are for 3-7yr olds. Additionally, on certain days at some of our venues, we have classes for 3-4 year olds who are in full-time nursery and unable to attend during the day.

Colourstrings is a fully-integrated approach, based on the traditional Hungarian Kodály Method. Children learn all the basics of music through a variety of activities, including songs, rhymes, games, listening, movement to music, percussion and dancing. Instrumental tuition is offered usually starting from 5-7 years (violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar or piano) for Kindergarten graduates. By the time the children move on from Kindergarten to start learning an instrument with us they are already achieving levels of musicality at least equivalent to Key Stage 2 for 11 year olds.
