This year, celebrate the unseen people who ran Mompesson House behind the scenes.
How does the plasterwork stay up, how do the air twists get inside glasses and who decides what flowers are fashionable? If you've ever had any of these questions, you'll discover the answers this spring. An in-depth booklet researched and created by the Collections and House team will lead you through the house as you discover some of the tricks and techniques used by artisans in the eighteenth century and beyond.
This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue.
Celebrate blossom this spring at Mompesson House with free activities from 22 March to 4 June.
The house will be alive with floral displays created and provided by volunteer and community groups from around Salisbury and Wiltshire. There will be multiple flower arrangements in every room of Mompesson House.
Bring a sketchbook or borrow one from Mompesson and take the time to draw, paint or even write a poem in the garden. Free botanical illustration workshops in the garden.
As part of our Festival of Blossom celebrations, we are offering free early entry to Mompesson House for those who require a quieter environment. Early entry starts half an hour before opening times.
