Teddy Bears Picnic - Musical Storytelling Workshop

Musical play, songs and dance activities delightfully engage babies and their loved adults. Live instruments, colourful resources and skilfully woven activities.

Musical Play (3 months - 18 months)

Musical Play (18 months - 3 years)

Instruments, songs, dancing and musical play brings miniature stories to life. Colourful visuals and puppets weave much loved topics (animals, holidays, festivals) into spontaneous word play, songs and interactive adventure and dancing. Shared appreciation of real instruments combined with immersed musical learning makes these music lessons truly special.

Musical Stories

Play based introduction to a range of instruments for children aged 4-5 years, building up the necessary skills for formal lessons in piano, violin or guitar. Perfect as a first introduction to music making and a natural progression from our Music Appreciation sessions.

Expect singing, drumming, musical games and instrumental play as well as a basic introduction to piano, ukulele and guitar. The children learn about posture and hand positioning, they are introduced to music notes and explore musical concepts such as tempo, pitch and rhythm. Our appreciation sessions are driven by children's natural curiosity in how music works. Importantly, our sessions are as fun as they are educational.

Instrumental Play

What is Djembe? How about a Glockenspiel?! Young children experience a whole range of percussion instruments, how they work, the history and different sounds they make. Through live instrumental play children learn music terminology, and play different genres in groups, in solo, and get the chance to perform too!

Percussion Play

Meet Yoo Hoo, our adorable little hedgehog. It’s cold and shivery. Brrrr. You Hoo needs a new chimney! What animals will Yoo Hoo meet on a shivery quest to find a new chimney?  A musical adventure with lots of singing, dancing, instrumental play and "Yoo Hoos!"
