Messy play sessions for babies and toddlers. Sessions closely follow the EYFS, developing expressive arts and design, understanding the world, mathematics, literacy and physical development. Each week sessions explore different textures and materials and we’ll also help you make something special to take home. We have messy activities for crawlers and cruisers for our babies, and walkers and talkers at our toddler sessions. At messy monkeys you squelch gloop, splash water and spoldge paint...we do the tidying up.
Arts & Crafts
Messy Monkeys has not run any activities for over two months. We’re trying to get an up-to-date schedule.
the class was wonderful, great range of things to play with and a nice warm bath at the end which was a great idea as my son was covered in everything. if you go make sure you bring bath stuff and a towel and a change of clothes for you and baby as you will be both be full of everything.
I really enjoy going to Messy Monkeys with my 9 month old boy. Love that he has the opportunity for messy play that I wouldn’t have the inclination, or resources for at home. The themed weeks make sure it’s interesting each time... he usually likes the paint, and the splashy water the best. Can’t believe that at nine months, I already have a collection of his artwork on the fridge too! I also love that they have a little warm bath at the end, so I don’t need to worry about a messy car. Gemma is so lovely and welcoming and makes sure each session is lots of fun.
Messy Monkeys was an amazing experience for both myself and my daughter. Jo is very friendly and she made us welcome every session. Each week there was something new for her to explore with different themes. She had so much fun feeling all the textures and playing with all the toys, paint, etc! It helped build my daughter's confidence, mix with other babies and play without worrying about getting messy! She even enjoyed bath time at the end of each session! I would highly recommend this to any mum/dad, baby and toddler.
Gemma is an art graduate who is passionate about supporting babies and toddlers development and believes that children learn best through free play and exploration. Gemma loves interacting with all children during sessions through discovering messy play, providing opportunities to learn about mark making, colour, design, form and function, exploring different materials and textures in her seasonally themed sessions. The sessions are planned for the kinaesthetic learner who isn't content sitting, passively listening, but would rather be physically involved.
