We loved this class! A terrific introduction to classical music. Very interactive and fun for mum and toddler. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided free, and lots of mum’s stick around for a friendly catch up before/after class. Highly recommended!
This was such a terrific class. It’s rare that toddlers get to see instruments played up close, and in this session the teacher played the flute, guitar, piano and sang for them. The music varies between all of us joining in the usual kiddie songs, and interacting with a classical piece at the end. There are some great warm ups to emphasise rhythm and the beat in the music, and the kids loved playing with the sound shapes and claves. Crawling around like a tortoise to the carnival of the animals (the tortoise) and then jumping up and down with streamers to the cancan! The parents were all really engaged and the kids had a ball. This class is cheaper than Hartbeeps, and to make it even better value for money, the teacher provides free tea and coffee in the outside room for before and after class. The other parents were really friendly, so I enjoyed a cup of coffee while the kids ran around after class. We will definitely be back-we loved everything about this class. Oh, and my son has started singing the tidy away song that we learned at little notes when he tidies away, and has requested the ‘roller coaster’ at home as well. The class certainly made an impression!
This is such a wonderful class. It had a Christmas theme (being the class before Christmas), so we enjoyed different movements to a rickety reindeer and a swooping sleigh ride. The class really feels like a ‘proper’ music class, helping the kids ‘feel’ the beat and change in rhythm, and experiencing live flute, guitar, piano and singing, and classical music. There’s also lots of opportunity for movement (essential for toddlers) with waving ribbons and playing claves and simple instruments and a bouncy parachute with some balls which the kids adored! As the teacher provides tea, coffee and biscuits for free before and after class, it’s a really social, friendly atmosphere with the other parents. I enjoyed a chat with some local mums while our boys played after class. Overall, excellent value for money, and a terrific class for the little one to learn about music, and for parent to enjoy some adult conversation. Give it a go!
