Fuel produce fresh work for adventurous people by inspiring artists. We believe in supporting and stimulating artists to develop their own ideas through provocation and challenge. We have a rich and trusting creative dialogue with all of the artists we work with, and we engage with all aspects of the development of the work. Each relationship is unique, as we try to respond to the needs of each artist individually.
Performances & Live Entertainment
Fuel has not run any activities for over two months. We’re trying to get an up-to-date schedule.
I am a theatre-maker based in the North East. I have written for PainesPlough, Bush Theatre, Royal Exchange, National Theatre and in 2012 was recognised as one of twelve ‘Northern Champions’ by IRRP North for promoting the profile of the North on a national scale. I have worked in participation programmes across the UK, from verbatim projects with eleven-year-olds to acting as Lead Writer for Northern Stage’s Young Company and recently completed a yearlong project with Walker Technology College to devise a play about what it means to live in one of the most deprived wards of the North East.
I run Encounter, a company that are committed to creating contemporary performance with participation at its heart. I also work as a movement and acting teacher in schools across London and I am a specialist DanceAbility Teacher -an international training that builds inclusive communities through dance. I trained primary teachers on inclusive approaches to creative movement within the national curriculum and have been funded by Arts Council England to develop youth dance projects for children with physical, sensory and learning needs.
