Join us for a tour of Byland Abbey to explore the green spaces of the monastery, from the cloister garth to the physic garden. Learn their symbolic significance, as well as more practical uses in terms of food and medicine.
Our volunteer guide will trace the signifance of the physic garden from the Plan of St Gall, through the medieval period through to its influence on the herbals and to the botanical gardens as today.
