Description

In the 20th century London became a fashion powerhouse. This was largely due to an influx of Jewish immigrants. In the West End, the story is one of couturiers, boutiques and department stores. We will discover the sites of these businesses and hear about how they operated and the ways in which the designers behind them managed to both transcend stereotypes and defy expectations.

This tour is graded as moderate access, due to it being a walking tour covering 1.5-2 miles over busy and uneven streets, with few places to stop and rest. Goodge Street Station does not have step-free access. The nearest station is Tottenham Court Road, which may have a mini ramp available. For more information, please see https://tfl.gov.uk/transport-accessibility.
