As part of the celebration of Skyscraper Day on 3 September, join us for our special Skyscraper tours where you can go to the top of the first iron-framed building in the world – the grandparent of the skyscraper.
Climb the wooden stairs of the Jubilee Tower to one of the highest vantage points in Shrewsbury. See the town of Shrewsbury, Shropshire and beyond! Each tour will last 30 minutes.
Tours will run on:
Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August, 11am, 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm
Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 September, 11am, 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm
English Heritage members get free entry. Children also go free and must be accompanied by a paying adult. Booking is recommended. Normal exhibition and Behind the Scenes Tour prices still apply.
If you do not have a head for heights, you can also celebrate Skyscraper Day by enjoying the launch of the Flaxmill Café’s afternoon teas. Enjoy special treats inside the grandparent of the modern skyscraper.
The Jubilee Tower has 56 wooden steps to the top and you need a good head for heights. We also have a video too for any visitors who cannot make it up the steps. This tour is not recommended for any children who require carrying.
