Description

Explore the butler's pantry of Audley End House and learn the personal and professional secrets of William Lincoln, butler to Charles 5th Lord Braybrooke in the late 1800s.

You will see the tools of his trade, and the family silver collection in his care. You will discover more about his responsibilities for the comfort and safety of the Braybrooke family, and his role in setting standards for the servants under his command. But did William himself live up to those standards? Hear the evidence and decide for yourself!

This event is graded as moderate access due to needing to navigate uneven flooring and steps with limited seating for rest stops.
