Wroxeter was once one of the largest and most successful towns in Roman Britain. Join English Heritage’s Curator of History, Andrew Roberts, for a tour that delves into the rules and rhythms of Roman urban life.
Wroxeter Roman City features the only complete Roman public baths in Britain and during this tour you’ll discover the deep significance that a trip to the baths had in the lives and identities of Roman people.
At Wroxeter you can also see the recreated town house used by the Roman elite, a tantalising glimpse of the forum, and an exhibition of objects that speak to what life was like in a Roman town in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.
This tour is graded as moderate access, as it is a walking tour in crowded, uneven streets, with few places to stop and rest.
Bookings will open on Wednesday 15 July at 9am.
