Join us for a fascinating talk by Abby Van Slyck, exploring Osborne’s Swiss Cottage through the lens of her recent book, Playhouses and Privilege: The Architecture of Elite Childhood.
In this engaging lecture, Abby reveals how spaces created for children can tell much larger stories about society, class, and gender. Drawing on examples from elite childhood architecture, she examines how ideas about play, privilege, and identity shaped these unique buildings and the worlds around them.
This talk will take place in the Education room at Osborne.
