Join us for a surface guided tour of the newly rediscovered Royal Observer Corps (ROC) post. Sealed and forgotten in 1968, this subterranean post was designed for a single, chilling purpose: to monitor nuclear blasts and track radioactive fallout across the Yorkshire coast.
Discover the "unsung" story of the volunteers who were prepared to sit in this 15ft by 7ft concrete chamber "watching for Armageddon" while the world above faced destruction.
This tour is graded as moderate access due to covering some uneven terrain and few places to stop and sit down.
Bookings will open on Wednesday 15 July at 9am.
