Charles Dickens created many famous animal characters, from Bullseye the dog in Oliver Twist to Grip the Raven in Barnaby Rudge. All of these creatures were brought to life for readers by the illustrators who worked on his books and journals.

Working with illustrator Millie Nice, who has created artworks for the current exhibition Faithful Companions, you will learn the skills and techniques of animal illustration in a variety of media including quill pen and ink, and create a portfolio of work to take away.

Suitable for ages 11-15 years

This is a 2-hour unaccompanied workshop with adults required to drop off and collect in person, and provide a mobile phone number to be contactable on if they do not plan to remain in the museum.

£20.50 per child including museum access, tutoring and all materials.
