Dancers are encouraged to express themselves while mastering hip hop steps and exploring sub-styles within street dance.

P4-7 Hip hop dance (Saturdays)

Classes include games, movement and imagination to develop coordination, motor skills and rhythm! 45-minute classes for children aged 3-4 years old.

Preschool dance (Weds 3.30pm)

These young dancers learn basic hip hop moves and choreography in this supportive and encouraging class, building confidence and strengthening creativity. Expect lots of dancing and fun routines.

P1-3 Hip hop dance (Weds)

Have fun with your little one in this class which includes activities, fun dance moves & imagination to develop coordination, motor skills & rhythm! 

45min class plus time to play with tea, coffee & juice. Every Thurs during school termtime, drop-in class: £5 per child or £2.50 per additional sibling.

Learn hip hop moves, improve musicality and technique, while learning the culture of hip hop and exploring different street dance styles. Work as a team, make new friends and have a great time along the way!

Start from the fundamentals, and learn toprock, footwork, freezes and combos!  No previous experience needed for the beginners class.

Breakdance beginners 7-12yrs (Sundays)

Start from the fundamentals, and learn toprock, footwork, freezes and combos!  For the Improvers class, dancers should have around 1-2yrs experience in breaking, with a good understanding of fundamental steps such as 6 step, corkscrew, coffee grinder, basic toprock, head bridge, etc.

Breakdance Improvers 7-12yrs (Sundays)

With an emphasis on performance and expression, dance to favourites from the musicals, both screen and stage!

Welcome!!  Dance in a fun, encouraging environment - from Preschool to Professional!  The Dance House is an Edinburgh dance studio focussing on street dance styles, providing classes for kids and adults of all levels, as well as youth dance company training, performances, shows and events. Based in Leith, The Dance House is a non-profit Social Enterprise with a main aim of making dance, and its many physical, social and mental health benefits, as accessible as possible to all.
