Confessions of the Youth Theatre Company was founded in September 2014, born out of the desire to give children and Young people a voice through creative freedom. The company is devoted to creating new and exclusive pieces of theatre through the thoughts and experiences of the youth. Without placing any exclusions on race, finance, status, gender, sexuality or religion. This is a theatre company for all.
Music, Dance & Drama
Amy has a postgraduate masters degree with distinction in Theatre for Young Audiences. She has a considerable amount of experience working with children and teenagers in both an educational and creative capacity. She is absolutely passionate about working with children, teenagers, and young adults, teaching drama, and making theatre both for and with them.
Charlotte is a director, writer and performer based in the Southwest. She has worked with various local and international organisations, including The Barded Ladies, Beyond The Horizon, Invulnerable Nothings and the Egg theatre. She is the co-founder and Creative Director of Apricity Theatre, who specialise in making work that explores the way gender shapes our lives and affects our experiences of the world.
Emma has recently finished her A levels and will be starting her Drama degree at the university of Winchester in September 2019. Working with Confessions of the Youth Theatre Company is the perfect opportunity to get involved in theatre during her gap year. Emma has had a lot of experience in theatre and have most recently been involved in Frome College's production of Lord of the Flies where she played the part of Piggy as well as taking on the responsibility of assistant director
Jaydean is the proud owner of a Master in Theatre for Young Audiences, she is also a theatre practitioner and the founder and director of Confessions of the Youth Theatre Company - a company devoted to creating new pieces of devised theatre through the thoughts and experiences of the youth. She is a mother to five children. Jaydean has most recently completed the REGIONAL YOUNG DIRECTORS SCHEME, hosted by the Egg Theatre Bath.
After studying performing arts at college and then topping it up with a circus education Natalie has travelled the world performing in circus' and playing music. After spending some time as a Primary School Teacher she is now studying a Masters in Directing Circus. She loves the physical theatre style and embodied expression, taking many of her influences from dance and clown. A lesson with Natalie will focus strongly on team work, building a world together that is supportive and attentive to each other.
