Chloe May's Dance Academy

Chloe May's Dance Academy is a traditional dance school with a modern twist! We have a combined number of 300 dancers (toddlers, kids, teens & adults) between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove and have been running for almost 6 years. We are an encouraging, supportive and welcoming dance school that strives to help children become the best dancers they can be. We are not elitist in our approach and want every child to have access to a fulfilling dance education - whether they just want to dance for fun or decide to dance for progression and achievement with dreams of a career in the performance arts industry. Our main aims through the Academy are to promote children's love for dance, allow them to enjoy positive physical exercise, improve their mental health, develop their confidence, self-esteem and performance skills, as well as to thrive as dancers and individuals. In Kidderminster we teach Ballet, Tap & Modern, Acro Dance, Pom Dance, Street Dance and Lyrical/Contemporary classes. We have classes available from walking right up to adults. Little Bear Feet (Pre-School Ballet)

A magical Ballet and Creative Dance journey for ages walking to 2.5 that sees tiny ones travel to Nursery Rhyme Land each week, dancing to simple movement exercises with imagination, props and music - each dance class an engaging and exciting one! Using the award-winning Melody Movement syllabus framework, Little Bear Feet is the first step in a Pre-Schooler's dance journey with us. Upon completion of Little Bear Feet, children move up into more advanced Melody Movers Ballet classes. Children earn weekly stickers towards termly medals which reward in-class progress! Melody Movers 1 (Pre-School Ballet)

A magical Ballet and Creative Dance journey for ages 2-3 that uses storytelling, themes, imagination, props and music to make each dance class an engaging and exciting one. Using the award-winning Melody Movement syllabus framework, Melody Movers is the next step up from our Little Bear Feet classes. Children earn weekly stickers towards termly medals which reward in-class progress! Parents participate in this class with their tiny dancer. Melody Movers 2 (Pre-School Ballet)

A magical Ballet and Creative Dance journey for ages 3-4 that uses storytelling, themes, imagination, props and music to make each dance class an engaging and exciting one. Using the award-winning Melody Movement syllabus framework, Melody Movers is the next step up from our Little Bear Feet & Melody Movers 1 classes. Children earn weekly stickers towards termly medals which reward in-class progress! This is an independent class for older Pre-Schoolers, but parents may sit and watch. Acro Antics (Pre-School Acro Dance)

Acro Antics is our very own dance course, lovingly created here at Chloe May’s Dance Academy. Fun and energetic, these classes suit children who are full of beans as they will learn to dance on their hands as well as their feet! Acrobatic Dance or ‘Acro Dance’ for short, is a unique and exciting dance style that combines dance with gymnastic and acrobatic movements. From cartwheels and forward rolls, to gallops and sidesteps, our pre-school classes teach Acro Dance through the use of creative and engaging exercises, props and themes. Each week children receive a sticker of a movement they have practised in class and these are collected to earn termly medals, rewarding their in-class progress. Our cute and cuddly mascot Acorn the Ant joins children in their classes to lend a helping hand.

Reception & Year 1 Ballet with Melody Bear

These classes follow the award-winning Melody Bear First and Foundation syllabi. Children’s confidence, physicality and self-expression soar as we use unique props, dance the stories of classic fairy tales, carry out creative dance exercises and learn choreographed Ballet routines in exciting, jam-packed lessons. Each week, children receive a sticker of a movement or theme they have worked on in class and these are collected to earn termly medals rewarding their in-class progress.
