Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival

Brighton Dome is the south coast's premier multi-arts venue. Each year, we present and produce over 600 events spanning music, theatre, dance, comedy, literature, spoken word, visual arts, film, digital and more, including a number of family events each season. In addition to the year-round programme, each May we produce England's leading and most-progressive mixed-arts celebration, the internationally-acclaimed Brighton Festival.

Michael Rosen & MC Grammar: Ridiculous Raps & Rhymes

Get ready to rhyme, rap and ROAR with laughter! Former Children’s Laureate and poetry icon Michael Rosen has teamed up with award-winning rapping teacher & World Book Day ambassador, MC Grammar, for an action-packed musical showdown. This unmissable family show pits Raps against Rhymes in a high-energy, laugh-filled musical celebration of words. Tickets to all Young Readers events include a book signing after the show.

Liz Pichon: Author of the Tom Gates series & The Mubbles

Join award-winning author and illustrator Liz Pichon as she celebrates 15 years of the multi-million bestselling Tom Gates series and takes you into the world of The Mubbles with drawing, games, storytelling and more. The Brilliant World of Tom Gates celebrates 15 years in 2026 and new book Pesky Pets and Parties (Hopefully) is the 24th book in the laugh-out-loud series filled with adventure, doodles, friends, foes and caramel wafers! The Mubbles live on the Isle of Smile and when the clouds of joy bump together to make a wonky rainbow, it’s a sign that someone or something is coming to visit. The hilarious full colour graphic novel series is filled with colourful characters, boundless fun and lots of adventures. Happy Hills: Create a Comic Character with Sophy Henn Workshop

Bring your sketchbooks, pencils and imaginations to help Sophy create a brand new dynamic, dastardly or even darling comic book duo - it's up to you! Sophy will share how she created some of her Happy Hills characters and bought them to life on the page, then we will do the same for our brand new duo!

Joshua Seigal: I Tell Myself I’m Awesome

Award-winning poet, performer and literacy champion Joshua Seigal presents an uplifting event for 7+ that's like pick-and-mix for your mental health. With huge amounts of interaction, Josh performs warm, bouncy, reflective poems from his new collection, encouraging children to use language creatively on the spot and contribute to a new poem. Workshop attendees will get to luxuriate in the joy of words and learn to express themselves with confidence.  Josh is a two-time Lollies winner and a recipient of the People's Book Prize. He is an energetic workshop lead and educator working to spread the joy of poetry in hundreds of schools nationwide. Josh's latest collection, I Tell Myself I'm Awesome, is the perfect book for both aspiring poets and kids who love to laugh. 2026 will also see the 10th anniversary of Josh's book I Don't Like Poetry.   Tickets to all Young Readers events include a book signing after the show.
