Bright Woods Forest School CIC
Based in beautiful Teesdale, Bright Woods Forest School offers unique outdoor learning experiences for children of all ages across County Durham, Darlington and surrounding areas of North Yorkshire. These include: Forest Schools, Environmental Education, Book Walks, Programmes for Toddlers and Pre-schoolers, Birthday Parties and Events.
We work with nurseries, primary and secondary schools, home educators, community groups, families, youth groups, voluntary organisations and individuals.
We have a beautiful woodland site just outside of Barnard Castle but also work at other locations.

My kids and I love going to Bright woods sessions. We don't live round the corner, but feel it's definitely worth making the track to Bright woods. I love how children are allowed and even encouraged to be themselves, to roam and to explore. There is such a lovely, gentle atmosphere at each session. And my kids have gained a love for nature and being outside that I'm not sure would have been there otherwise. 5 stars!
I attended a birthday party here with my 8 year old daughter. We both had a lovely time and are looking forward to taking part in the Minecraft event.
3 nine year boys had a fantastic wildcraft adventure. Lots of well organised activities/games in the woods. Made tools, dens & sausages on a camp fire. All wanted to do it again the following weekend, excellent day!
