Black Box Drama School offer immersive classes using the ‘Role That Dice’ system of teaching, a dynamic method of creating drama through improvisation and dice rolling.
Through this process, pupils are encouraged to govern the ownership of their plays, characters and narratives. Once a play has been created through this system, it is penned into an original script. Led by their teacher, pupils then transform their script into a live production, practising traditional theatre skills.
This pedagogy has been developed across more than fifteen years of Drama teaching and underpins the Black Box Drama School curriculum. The synergy of all the components is an exciting curriculum that guides pupils to collaborate, create, manage, perform and direct their own plays.
