The Professional Development Programme Foundation Plus is a one-year course for students aged 18+ who have left full-time education.

With 20.75 hours of contact time per week, our small cohorts and incredible staff/student ratios enable a laser focus on the skills required to achieve drama school entry whilst enabling students to train without the additional costs and disruption of relocation.

Unlike a standard foundation course students benefit from being part of the PDP training theatre company and participate in two major productions during the year. Students successfully completing the PDP Foundation Plus course will receive an ATCL Diploma (Level 4) qualification in Musical Theatre or Performing Arts from Trinity College.

Put simply; this represents a fantastic opportunity to benefit from a training course and, simultaneously, join a training theatre company that emphasises student welfare and mindfulness—a combination not available anywhere else at this level.

CLASSES FOR ALL AGES [Reception - Year 7]

All MTKidz students perform in a showcase presentation in a studio theatre venue once a year.

MTKidz Mini offers a full introduction to the joy of Acting, Singing, and Dancing in an hour-long class for children in Reception, Year 1 & 2. 

MTKidz Junior and MTKidz Junior+ classes enable students to further develop their skills in Musical Theatre in age-appropriate classes.

MTKidz Junior is for students in school Years 3 &4 and lasts an hour and a quarter.

MTKidz Junior+ is for students in school Years 5,6 & 7 and lasts an hour and a half.

Singing, dance, and drama are taught as separate disciplines in order to develop confidence and competence as an individual, working with experienced and dedicated creative teaching staff. Both classes are non-syllabus and run for an hour and a quarter and an hour and a half, respectively.

Students can progress through all the stages of  MTKidz, and as they turn 12, they can move to MTTeenz or transfer to other classes should they wish to concentrate on a single discipline, such as Acting or Dance, or they may audition for a place in BIGLITTLE Youth Theatre.

Drama & Devising is a multifaceted acting class that enables students to explore a range of skills and techniques, from core character work to expression and delivery through gesture and physicality: command the stage with prowess and presence.

This class draws on scripted literature, improvisation, physical theatre, and devised theatre, offering students the opportunity to delve into the depths of monologues and duologues and, equally, learn fundamental chorus and ensemble skills, which will help build strong foundations in acting ability.

Drama & Devising enables students to draw upon various skills, furthering versatility in their actor's toolkit.  Perfect for students studying at GCSE level or for those who want to enjoy drama as an out-of-school activity.
