These seasonal steam train rides take children from New Romney to Hythe to visit Santa in his Grotto, where they can tell him what they would like for Christmas. Each child also receives an age-appropriate present from Santa before the return journey to Hythe. The recently opened Heritage Centre is based at New Romney station and answers any questions your kids might have about the trains or the local area.

Not only is it a fun and educational experience, but the railway also has a great selection of food, whether you’re looking for a full English breakfast, a casual lunch or a snack. Choose from the Hythe Coffee Shop, the Heywood Buffet at New Romney or the End of the Line Restaurant at Dungeness. The gift shops also sell snacks and souvenirs, so there’s no need to go hungry.
