The Ambarabà project started in 2016 aiming to support the second-generation language maintenance of the Italian community of Balham, Clapham and Streatham. Today, with our fantastic teachers specialised in teaching Italian as a second language, and the precious collaboration of the local Italian community, we run after-school clubs for children and workshops and events for the whole family.
I founded Ambarabà in 2016, aiming to support the second-generation language maintenance of the Italian community of Balham, Clapham, and Streatham. Today, teaching to heritage-language learners is my passion and Ambarabà’s main goal. After my academic studies in Educational Linguistics (Didattica dell'Italiano LS/L2) at Università per Stranieri di Siena, I taught at the Italian Institutes of Culture in the Middle East. In 2011, I moved to Istanbul where I started teaching in primary schools, and it was there that I discovered my passion for second language acquisition and primary education.
Ciao a tutti! My name is Sara and I am from Bergamo. I hold a Master of Education from the University of Milano-Bicocca, and alongside my studies, I did 4 years of internships and supply teaching in Italy, and six months of teaching training in Belgium. In 2017, I moved to the UK where I obtained my QTS to teach in primary and secondary schools and completed my training in teaching languages with a focus on Italian as a Community Language. I always try to combine my lessons with my passions, bringing to the classroom a bit of music, handicraft and, absolutely, the Italian cuisine!
I’m Tiziano and I come from Rome. After completing my studies in “Modern Foreign Languages & Literature” at Università Degli Studi Roma Tre, I started teaching English and Italian as foreign languages in Estonia, Turkey and now England. In 2017, I trained to teach Italian as a second language and now I teach second-generation Italian kids and teenagers in London. I moved to London to pursue my teaching career and also to improve my skills as a stand-up comedian. Indeed, in my spare time, you will find me preparing or performing gigs
