CINDERFORD TAE KWON-DO
BUILD CONFIDENCE, RESPECT, AND FOCUS – ONE CLASS AT A TIME.
ABOUT US
Cinderford Tae Kwon-Do, launched by Kenneth Penman and Melinda Shaw-Penman in June 2009, is part of the Revolution Tae Kwon-Do family.
Ken and Mel are Revolution Instructors with enhanced DBS certificates, first aid, safeguarding, and SEND Inclusion credentials, and we have over 40 years of experience between us.
We’re a family run, family friendly club; we began training with our children, all four of whom have achieved Black Belt status.
WHAT IS TAE KWON-DO?
Translated from Korean, Tae literally means to jump, kick or smash with the foot, Kwon means a fist; to punch or destroy with the hand or fist, and Do means art, way or method.
It is a system of unarmed combat for self-defence purposes, involving the skilled application of punches, kicks, blocks, and interceptions with the hands, arms and feet, to defeat the opponent.
To the Korean people Tae Kwon-Do is more than a mere use of skilled movements. It also implies a way of thinking and life.
WHY TAE KWON-DO?
Tae Kwon-Do is ideal for building confidence, focus and concentration, balance and coordination, respect, as well as fitness and self-defence. We also teach stamina, sensory perception and reactions, whilst incorporating courtesy, perseverance and positivity.
