Calling all kids and their caretakers to join us at the Museum of Brands for a spooktacular series of Halloween activities! Kids are challenged to hunt out and draw food brands hidden across the decades, create their own fang-tastic designs with our Terrifying Tricks or Tasty Treats coloring activity, and design their own sweet and scary packaging for a chocolate bar based on historical examples. While their little ones are busy exploring, adults can enjoy a nostalgic trip down memory lane, experiencing 200 years of amazing social, cultural, and lifestyle changes. Craft materials provided. Kids can enjoy free admission from Monday to Thursday, from October 21 to November 4, with a paying adult for general admission. Come join the fun and celebrate Halloween with a unique twist!

Terrifying Tricks or Tasty Treats

We are proudly re-launching over 80 Brand Histories, revealing the decade-to-decade evolution of today’s most iconic brands including Cadbury’s Milk Tray, Bisto, HP Sauce, Ovaltine and many more.  Previously a very popular display at our previous location in Colville Mews, the Brand Histories are back for the first time since 2015.

By looking at case studies of specific brands over time, it is possible to examine how the packaging has changed in response to the needs and concerns of consumers, businesses and wider society.  Little changes, which may go unnoticed at the time, become large changes over a number of years - you may be surprised by designs you haven’t seen for a long time!

The Museum of Brands is open from 10:00 to 18:00 Monday to Saturday and 11:00 to 17:00 on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
