What will you learn on this course?

This course introduces learners to a modern form of etching that involves using electric current to engrave images in to metal.

Using a repurposed mobile phone charger, Electro-etch metal with your unique designs using simple and safe techniques. Watch in awe as your drawings permanently mark the metal through the magic of science, then learn how to turn your creation into unique items.

Etching is a drawing process that dates back to the 14th century, originally used to create designs on armour and jewellery. Normally this is carried out through a process of very harmful chemicals that would require specialist equipment. However, Electro-etching uses low voltage to etch your drawings and is completely safe!
