Music Moves is a pre-marathon shakeout festival bringing movement, music, and community together on the day before race day.

Designed as a relaxed warm-up to the Southampton Marathon Festival, the programme features a range of beginner-to-intermediate, low-pressure activities led by professional instructors and trusted local companies. From playful dance and hula-hooping to yoga, runner talks, and light challenges, Music Moves offers runners, residents, and spectators a chance to loosen up, try something new, and soak up the buzz of race weekend. Whether you’re preparing to run, cheering from the sidelines, or just curious to get involved, Music Moves is all about feeling good, getting moving, and connecting with the city ahead of the big day.
