When the kids are on their half-term break in Surrey, make sure to spend quality time with them. In good old Surrey, there are a ton of fun and exciting activities to enjoy with your little ones. These are the top 5 things to do in Surrey this half term for kids:
Kids love treasure hunting. Activities like these are hard to do at home since most parents don’t have the resources (or the patience!) to come up with an interesting treasure hunt. Guildford Treasure Trail solves that issue by providing a jam-packed experience with lots of exciting turns and side quests. The statues, landmarks, maps, and clues are great fun to solve together as a family. At the end of the treasure hunt, gather the family and have a picnic on the grounds.
Contrary to what you might think, a trip to this Arboretum is actually great fun for kids. They will learn how to appreciate the wildlife, trees, and shrubs located in the surroundings, and learn a lot about conservation while they’re at it. Don’t forget to drop by the tea room and the gift shop for a little surprise! If your family loves dogs, there’s no need to worry as this park also allows families to bring their pets along.
Many kids are fascinated by planes and cars, and Brooklands Museum in Weybridge has a rich history, being the site of the world's first motor-racing circuit. Attractions include a Concorde simulator experience, collections of historic and contemporary racing cars, buses and aircraft. Experience immersive history in the recreated aircraft factory and World War II air raid shelter. Learn about Formula 1 and the incredible engineering involved in creating the world's fastest cars.
Kids love animals, and Godstone Farm is designed specifically for youngsters to get up close with them. All sorts of animals that children love can be found here, including bunnies, chickens, pigs, horses, cows, birds, and many more, and there are opportunities for children to pet and feed them. There are indoor and outdoor play areas for the little ones to let off some energy whatever the weather. They even have a new exciting dinosaur trail to check out.
If you’re looking for something creative to do, why not try making and painting your own pottery? In the Appletree Pottery Studio, children select different kinds of objects to paint and mould. They can choose to paint mugs, bowls, plates, figures, and many other trinkets that come in various shapes and sizes.
Whichever activity you choose to do with your kids, we hope you have a great time this half-term!
