The good thing about being in Leeds is that there is no shortage of activities you can do together with the whole family. Whenever the kids are on their half–term breaks, make sure to make the best use of this time and bond with each other over these 5 activities:
There’s nothing like taking part in a fun challenge with the entire family. Bring your kids along to the Ninja Warrior challenge in Leeds and watch them get their competitive side into action. You and your kids will be able to tackle obstacle-filled courses and inflatables that are sure to get their hearts pumping. If you’ve got kids on the smaller side, then there’s even a section for mini ninjas aged 0-6 years old! No one has to be left out here.
You might think of museums as being dusty and boring, but this is usually no longer the case - most have put a lot of work in to become interactive, fun family attractions. Leeds City Museum is a great option for your family - and what's even better, it's free to visit. With six galleries over four floors, you’ll get to know the history of Leeds, as well as learning about natural history, ancient cultures, and much more. Check the website for details of children's craft sessions and temporary exhibitions about the people and culture of Leeds.
One of the best activities to do during this half-term break would be to visit the zoo and spend some time with animals. Once you’re there, you’ll realise it wasn’t just the kids who needed a visit. Going to the zoo is definitely one of those activities where parents can have a great time too.
Tropical World has all the animals and plants you could ever think of, from insects to reptiles, spiders, and many more! A family favourite is the hall filled with many butterflies that are free to roam. It can be a bit scary - but it’s an excellent photo opportunity! There’s also a night-themed section where you’ll see that some animals are so much more active at night. Make sure to visit Tropical World - the whole family’s sure to love it.
Are you the family that loves to try out exciting adventures and get your hearts pumping? Make sure to check out Clip ‘n Climb! The whole family will love this indoor mountain climbing facility. Don’t be too worried about how dangerous or hard it will be, because at Clip n’ Climb they’ve got top-notch safety procedures. It will all be fine! The variety of courses available are also stunning, with over 32 different options for everyone to try out.
If you are the active, outgoing, and competitive type, make sure to visit Wetherby's Stockeld Park for more activities than you could ever think of. From ice skating, to riding in an electric scooter, getting lost in a giant Enchanted Forest Maze, or just casually having a picnic in the fields - there’s just so much to do here. Rain can’t stop you either since the indoor activities themselves will be more than enough fun for the entire family!
Make sure not to miss out on these 5 activities during this half-term break. We’re confident you’ll have a great time at any one of them!
