Give your kids a special break this half term by taking them somewhere new. Birmingham is full of many different things to do, so you’ll have no trouble looking for activities the whole family will enjoy. Here are 5 of our recommendations for things to do in Birmingham this half term:
Museums like the Black Country Living Museum are really good at making history fun. It will transport the whole family back in time all the way to the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. Your family will experience a ride on vehicles that were manufactured back in 1915, sit in classrooms that were actually used during those times, and experience what it was like to buy food in the 1930s.
There are so many gaming arcades across the country, yet there are few like Vortex Gaming. This arcade stands out from the rest and will get your kids jumping up and down with joy. I mean, who doesn’t love a good arcade session?
Vortex not only has a huge selection of games and activities, but it's renowned for its excellent customer service. The staff will help you and your kids with any concerns you might have, as well as guide you through the arcade so you can find your perfect game. In terms of variety, they have virtually every game you can think of. Whether it’s fighting, racing, shooting, bikes or basketball - Vortex has got it all.
Adventurous families, listen up. If you’re the kind of family that would rather go on a hike than watch TV, this is the park for you. Almost anything you can think of when it comes to adventure parks is available at Bear Grylls Adventure. Indoor skydiving, cage snorkelling with sharks, assault courses, and all sorts of ziplines. Adrenaline junkies will have a blast here!
Whether it's sunny or snowy, it’s never a bad time to visit the Birmingham SeaLife Centre! One of their most popular features is the 360-degree underwater tunnel, where you can witness what seems like countless species of sea creatures. Sharks, turtles, clownfish - SeaLife has them all! Rescue seals can also be seen at Sealife which is a guaranteed way to cheer the family up. Then - what for many is the main attraction - penguins! There really is nothing like it. If you can, we’d recommend you spend that extra £3.50 for the 4D Cinema as it’s fantastic fun for the whole family.
Chocolate isn't just for children, but for the whole family! Discover the history of British chocolate at Cadbury World in the scenic historical suburb of Bournville, Birmingham. Your kids will be in for a treat as they witness how their favourite chocolate treats are made. Needless to say - the smell is wonderful. You will also get to experience the Cadabra ride, have a 4D chocolate adventure, and meet the Cadbury drumming gorilla!
Be sure to check out these five sites whenever your kids are on their half–term breaks. We’re sure you won’t regret it.
