Top 5 Fireworks Displays in London

6 April 2023

London is known for many things: its iconic skyline, centuries-old architecture, and of course, its world-famous fireworks displays. Every New Year's Eve and Bonfire Night, the skies over the city light up with dazzling pyrotechnics, attracting crowds of spectators from all over the world. If you're visiting London during one of these holidays, check out one of these spectacular shows.

Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival

Watch fireworks explode against the London skyline from Alexandra Palace, in North London. It's not just a display - it's a whole festival, featuring a family area with funfair rides, a bonfire, spectacular fire show and food and drink stalls. For the adults, previous years have seen German bier and live music events running at the same time. Ally Pally also has a big indoor skating rink and a cinema.

Harrow Fireworks

Located conveniently close to Harrow and Wealdstone station, Harrow Fireworks in Byron Park is packed with family-friendly fun. There's a funfair, a world food arena, children’s entertainment shows and an entire afternoon and evening of celebrations for both Guy Fawkes Night and Diwali. Best of all, the fireworks are incredible.

Wimbledon Park Fireworks

If you're in South West London and have kids, Wimbledon Park Fireworks is the place to be. This popular event is aimed at families and the display features a Disney soundtrack, making it a truly magical experience for the little ones. While you're waiting for the main event to start, there are rides and a variety of food stalls to explore. Whatever your age, Wimbledon Park Fireworks are sure to impress.

Battersea Park Fireworks

Battersea Park is a large Victorian park on the south bank of the River Thames with a range of activities for all the family, including a lake, play areas, ornamental gardens and a zoo. In November, the park hosts one of the best fireworks displays in London. There are plenty of kids' entertainment options, plus food and drink stalls, making it a great option for those looking for a fun-filled evening. The huge bonfire and spectacular fireworks display will have everyone “oohing” and “aahing”.

Beckenham Fireworks in the Park

If you’re in South East London, Beckenham Fireworks in the Park is an excellent choice for a family-friendly night. You'll find plenty of entertainment, including a funfair and food stalls. Helpfully, the fireworks display is divided into two parts, with a quiet show for younger children earlier in the evening, followed by the main display later, meaning everyone can enjoy the fireworks at their own pace.

Whether you're looking for an explosive display or a more family-friendly event, London has a fireworks show to suit everyone. So if you're in town for Bonfire Night, check out one of these spectacular displays.
