With shows like Bake Off and its junior version becoming increasingly popular in recent years, more and more kids are being inspired to learn to cook. If your kids love the culinary arts and want to improve their skills, they’re in luck, as there are a number of top-quality cooking camps in the UK. Here are our top 5.

Rise Cookery School

Run by Supercamps, Rise Cookery School is designed for children aged 8 - 14. The camp offers a range of cooking activities, from learning about different ingredients to trying out new recipes. There's also the opportunity to take part in a bake-off competition. The camp is held over 5 days, with each day focusing on a different theme. With 15 locations across the UK, there's a good chance there's one near you.

The Cooking Club

The Cooking Club by Activate Camps is aimed at children aged 7 - 14, whatever their level of experience. There are various cooking courses, from beginner to advanced, where kids will learn about different ingredients, try out new recipes, and gain new culinary skills. Over the 5 day course, they'll create over 20 different dishes and will have the opportunity to sample their creations each day. There are 2 locations in the South of England that run this camp.

Gordon Ramsay Academy

At Gordon Ramsay Academy, in Surrey, there are regular junior classes for kids aged 6 - 15. Each session has a different theme, such as Italian, Chinese, or Indian cuisine. Children will learn about different ingredients, try out new recipes, and learn how to cook using different methods. They also run masterclasses for children aged 16+, where they can learn advanced cooking techniques from Gordon Ramsay's trusted chefs.

The Avenue Cookery School

Based in South West London, the family-run Avenue Cookery School classes are perfect for budding chefs aged 8 - 16. During the sessions, kids will learn about food safety, nutrition, and food preparation. They'll also get to cook various dishes from different cuisines and learn about a range of cooking methods. From individual classes to full summer camps, The Avenue has a range of options to suit your needs.

CookStars

Children can get cooking all kinds of delicious dishes and treats at CookStars, with locations across the UK. There are full day camps for children aged 5 upwards that cover a range of cuisines, and even bake-offs, for some fun competition. Some family workshops are open to kids as young as 2, where you can get hands-on with chocolate truffle making, ice cream cone cakes and other delicious treats.

There are a lot of great camps to choose from, where kids can learn about different cuisines and how to cook safely and nutritiously. If you're lucky they'll save some for you to try when you pick them up!
