Is Godstone Farm the best Farm?

26 November 2022

Farm experiences are becoming an ever more popular way of providing an entertaining and informative day out for all of the family. The children usually get to learn about all of the animals and about the way the farm works, presented in a fun and interesting way. They also generally have the opportunity to pet some of the smaller, cuter animals and the parents can enjoy the high-quality food and drink on offer in the cafe areas. It is a win-win all around and it’s not surprising that they are popular.

Godstone Farm is situated in 45 acres of the beautiful Surrey countryside and boasts a range of play areas and varied animal experiences where your children can get to meet lots of cute and curious critters.

Getting hands-on

One of the many activities that is sure to appeal to the kids (and many adults) is the staff-led feeding of the ducks and pigs. This is great fun for the children and also means that parents can relax a little because their children are in expert hands for this activity. It is a great excuse to get some very cute photos for posterity!

Dinosaurs!

A new dinosaur trail opened up at the farm in the Summer of 2021 and you will now come face to face with life-sized models of all the greatest creatures of the prehistoric era, including the king of them all, Tyrannosaurus Rex!

The farm has done a deal to bring to life the characters from popular children’s book series “Dinosaur Roar!”. In order to get the maximum from this visit it might be fun to read the books with your children beforehand so they can then meet the familiar characters. Entry to the trail is included in the general admission price for the farm.

In addition to the new dinosaur trail, there is an interactive palaeontology tent with brilliant, fun activities for younger children, there are costumed characters wandering around providing entertainment and you’ll find a steady stream of activities and events to capture the attention and interest of young minds.

Play time!

As if there wasn’t enough to do already, there is also a cosy indoor soft-play area for when the kids just need to climb on things and burn off some energy while the parents supervise from a safe distance and wonder at the seemingly endless energy levels of children! There is a large and well-equipped outdoor adventure playground as well and if the weather is good this is always a popular part of any visit.

Godstone Farm also has a new day-nursery and pre-school on-site where children can learn about the countryside and the journey from food to fork, in an encouraging and nurturing environment.

It’s difficult to ever say that any attraction is definitively “the best” at what they do but Godstone Farm is certainly an amazing day out for all of the family and one that we would heartily recommend. Just like their cows, horses and other animals, it is “out standing in its field”.
