River Thames
The River Thames runs through the middle of London and is a great spot for fishing with kids. There are many free fishing sites, and the river is easy to access. You’ll need to pay a small monthly membership fee and an hourly or daily charge for fishing, but children under 16 can fish for free with a paying adult. The friendly community site has a cafe, children’s play area and nature trails and it is home to many water birds, so there’s plenty to keep the little ones entertained if they get bored waiting for a bite on their rod.
Battersea Park
Battersea Park is a 200-acre Victorian park on the south bank of the Thames, easily accessed by public transport and close to the new Battersea Power Station development. The large lake is home to a range of different fish, including bream, tench, roach, and carp. You can make a day out of it, as there are plenty of other activities on offer, including boating, playgrounds, a children’s zoo, and sports facilities.

And with a cheap licence, it's an affordable way to enjoy quality time together. There's also a great variety of fish to be caught, including carp, tench, bream, roach, and rudd. There’s plenty of space to run around and play areas if the kids do get bored.
