Summer camps have been around for a while but in recent years have grown in popularity in the UK. They provide an opportunity for children to have an adventure holiday away from home without their parents and provide useful respite for working parents. Based in Marchants Hill, Hindhead in leafy Surrey, PGL, affectionately known as ‘Parents get Lost’, is one of the UK’s most well-known residential camps. They are designed for children between ages 7-17. They offer a seven-day activity camp, where your child can get a chance to try their hand at photography, dance, abseiling, climbing and quad biking, to name a few. If seven nights away is a little too long, they offer three and four-night camp experiences instead. If the Surrey PGL site is a little too far for you to travel, the company also have sites at 11 other UK locations.
This woodland retreat can be found in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. Offering either a three or seven-night sleepover experience in their bell tent village, kids get a chance to explore the woodland setting and take part in a number of activities. The camp features a central yurt for getting together during downtime and an outdoor kitchen where wood-fired pizzas and a bushcraft BBQ are on the menu.
At this fun-packed outdoor activity centre, children will enjoy an action-packed time that includes at least six activities a day. Offering five or three-day holiday camp experiences, the centre provides a home from home experience in real beds and sturdy tents built on wooden platforms. The holiday camps are perfect for children aged 8-15.
XUK camps offer a multi-activity residential summer camp in the Worcestershire countryside for children aged 8 to 17. Your child will get to try out a diverse range of activities, including water zorbing, bushcraft activities, staff vs campers nights and trips to historic Salisbury.
