Children are introduced to the basics of football, in a play-oriented yet structured format, using child-friendly but realistic football equipment. Each child is given the opportunity to work within their ability level but taught in a group environment. Classes also provide a fantastic opportunity for you to assist in your child’s early education, helping them develop physically as well as improving cognitive and social skills. (Parent participation required)

Play and games are at the heart of everything we do. Our games cleverly disguise the learning aspect so the children just think they are playing. The more the children enjoy the games, the more they participate. This enjoyment leads to greater confidence, which in turn leads to self-initiated participation and independent play. Classes also provide a fantastic opportunity for your child’s early education, helping them develop physically as well as improving cognitive and social skills. Whilst your child may sometimes require parent participation, in our Junior Kickers sessions we begin to encourage independance within the classes.

Our sessions are increasingly football focused, developing your child's football skills (with fun still at the heart) meaning that even new starters easily pick them up. Children begin to understand the importance of team play, whilst learning to work together and interacting in groups. Matches are also gradually introduced.

Vita: Discover A Story Of Love And Life At Knole

Discover the story of Vita Sackville-West’s life at Knole through to her wedding and bittersweet departure in 1913. This story will be brought to life around you with a new multimedia tour guiding you through key moments in Vita’s life. Explore the Great Hall, where you'll see wedding presents that were gifted to Vita and Harold alongside a marriage album assembled by Vita. A portrait of Vita by Philip de László, usually found in the Long Library at Sissinghurst, will also be on display. Around the showrooms you’ll find delicately detailed paper sculpture recreations of the dress worn by Vita at her wedding, as well as outfits worn by other members of the wedding party. The mannequins are designed and created by artist Denise Watson, of Delicarta, 'bringing paper to life'. This is a rare chance to see the original manuscript of ‘Orlando’, which is on show in the Ballroom. Seldom displayed due to its fragile nature, the manuscript has Virginia Woolf’s handwritten notes on. In the Cartoon Gallery a copy of Chatterton, the first work that Vita Sackville-West published, is displayed. Continue your journey to the Orangery to see the contemporary art installation by artist Lorna Johnson. The piece consists of 150 hand sewn scented ruffles that symbolise strong female figures who ruffled feathers to move society forward, just like Vita. This event is included with normal admission to Knole (showrooms, outdoor and tower ticket required) - there is no separate ticket.

Little Kickers - Knole Academy School Field - 5 years - 8 years (FREE TRIAL AVAILABLE)

(5 years to 8 years) Our Mega Kickers sessions are a great introduction to competative football, working as a stepping stone to joining their first football team. The games are progressively challenging enabling new skills to be learnt each lesson, however children are able to work within their ability, still teaching football in a fun, pressure-free environment. The match becomes the climax of the session, it is the perfect outlet for channelling children’s competitive energy as well as transferring their skills into a real world situation.

Runners (16-22 months)

It’s all about opposites: loud and quiet, fast and slow, up and down! Contrasting ‘themes’ help your child learn better ways to communicate. We move across the bridge sllowwwly and then fast! They’ll learn how to control body movements and use their body to navigate and problem solve across monkey bars, giant cushions, and through little tunnels. We’ll also practice repetition and routine with regular parachute and bubble activities. Soon your little one will be leading the Gymbo Dance!

Toddler Mondays At Knole

Explorers (22-28 months)

Our play floor comes to life with trips to the grocery store, eating pizza, finding animals, and even bugs! We’ll use creativity and imagination in all activities. Throw a pretend party, imagine a wild trip to outer space, or pretend to be an ant in a bug’s world…we’ll transform our playscape into a whole new world!

Explorers Plus (28-36 months)

Our play floor comes to life with a live construction site, dinosaur adventures, jungle fun, and even a trip to the fire station! We’ll be improving balance and co-ordination skills along with building strong muscles and bones.

Explorers Advanced (3-5 years)

Lots of co-operative games and imaginary adventures designed to build self confidence and promote the important personal and social skills needed for a successful transition into school.

Open Gym (under 5 years)

Free-play sessions for your little ones to come and explore the play floor at their leisure. Sessions are open to members as part of their monthly membership and also non-members at £5 per child (bookable in advance)

Walkers (10-16 months)

We’ll explore new physical challenges every week through teacher-led activities, with a focus on different ways to use each piece of our equipment. Crawl through tunnels, explore different textures, slide down slides (or climb up slides!), toddle over bridges, or take a ride in a swing!! We’ll also practice social skills and memory building through sing-alongs and group-play.

Crawlers (6-10 months)

We boogie down with our babies, get up and dance, give them baby massages, sing them songs, and explore new physical challenges every week through teacher-led activities on the equipment. Explore tummy time from a new perspective or on a new texture, slide down slides on soft lambskins, or take a ride in a gentle swing! Play as a group and socialize with others! Sing songs, learn a routine, and PLAY!

Families (mixed ages 6mo-5yrs)

More adventures come to life through imaginary play in this multi-age play class. A perfect opportunity for siblings to experience class together, or for children to practice more diverse social skills like leadership and peer modelling.
