Description

Baby massage is a longstanding parenting tradition in many cultures, including Indian and African, and was introduced to the western world during the last 30 years, gaining in popularity in the UK since the late 1990’s.

Baby massage is when a parent or primary carer lovingly strokes or holds their baby. Using a high quality non-fragranced vegetable oil, soothing holds and rhythmic strokes are given on each area of baby’s body, following a sequence that has been developed over many years. The massage offers a wonderful experience and a special time to communicate both verbally and non-verbally with babies, so that they feel loved, valued and respected.

My 6 month old and I have been enjoying gymboree classes since he was 10 weeks old. Caroline and Colette who lead the baby lab classes are friendly, creative and very personable with the babies and mummys. Ladies, you are doing a fantastic job - thank you! Unlike other baby classes in the area, gymboree limit the class size to ensure that all babies can participate and receive a good amount of class leader attention. The class always starts and ends with a fun sung routine. I love watching my son recognise and interact with it, it seems to excite him more each time! The rest of the class follows a theme (pop art, A Tiger Came To Tea ect.) with 3-4 stations exploratoring the theme through sensory play and song. We have made some great friends at gymboree and look forward to seeing them each week. I opted for the unlimited membership which is honestly incredible value for money for baby classes, allowing us to attend 3 classes per week at my son's age. We could not recommend gymboree enough, it has been fantastic for my son's development and I will look back on my maternity leave fondly with the classes as a highlight.

Gymboree Sevenoaks has been fantastic, such a safe and welcoming environment with innovative and interesting sessions. We have attended baby lab one and two as well as level two and three classes. All of which are perfectly structured for the respective age groups. Very sad to be going back to work and unable to attend any longer.

My daughter has got so much out of her Gymboree experience. We started when she was 9 months old and have gone right through to level 6. Each level is very carefully planned around the child's development stages; you can tell that a lot of thought has gone in to planning sessions that are exactly right for the children at each milestone. My daughter was a late crawler and walker, but she could climb well before she could walk - I'm sure this was down to Gymboree! Gaining confidence in climbing skills in the safe indoor environment meant that she was comfortable climbing using bigger outdoor play equipment. She's a proper little monkey now! She also loved all the songs, games and of course, Gymbo. The staff at Gymboree Sevenoaks are a lovely bunch, especially our main teacher, Avril, who is so enthusiastic and energetic with the children. Thanks Gymboree for giving us a flying start!
